IDEAS 2016 begins at Karachi Expo Centre

The ninth four-day International Defence Exhibition and Seminar-2016 will begin at Expo Centre in Karachi today (Tuesday). The even will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.


According to Radio Pakistan, 90 delegates from forty three countries are participating in the event.
The exhibition is being arranged by Defense Export and Promotion Organization under the theme of "Arms for Peace."
According to organizers, JF-Thunder, K8 Aircraft, Al-Khalid Tank, Fast Attack Craft Missile Boat and other defense products will be showcased in the exhibition.

IDEAS 2016, being the most strategically important event of the region, will once again bring together twenty-one foreign and one hundred fifty seven national firmswho will showcase their products in the exhibition. The four days of the show are exclusively for trade visitors and high official defence delegates.
The most productive geopolitical region of Asia is one of the largest markets for Defence Products. In a bid to effectively meet the new challenge posed by the transformed regional and global security dynamics, Asia as well as governments of the neighboring continent of Africa allocates significant budgets for modernization and up-gradation programs for their armed forces.

The PSL Pakistan Super League 2017 is scheduled to begin on Feb 9th 2017 in UAE. The opening ceremony and the first match will be played on Feb 9th with the final taking place in Lahore on March 5. The PSL 2 Draft for the second edition of the tourname nt was held on October 19 and all five teams announced their squads with most teams consisting of around 20 players from Pakistan and overseas. A few of the players were retained from the previous season by teams while the others were picked afresh from the PSL Draft. There was also a transfer window in which teams like Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars exchanged players. New Players like Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Brendon McCullum had also agreed to getting themselves placed in the Draft and were picked up by respective teams during the Draft, while Chris Gayle was let go of by Lahore and selected by Karachi.
